Top 2000 D ;Hier können 42 Chars benutzt werden

a little break of five minutes every
hour to send the news and comercials.
The world record was set up by SDR 3
in 1989 with its Top 1000X (1501 songs
were played). The Top 1000X was only
moderated by two reporters: T. Siller
and S. Schmidt, whereas the Top 2000D
was presented by eight moderators. They
were split up in two groups. One team
was in Stuttgart (S. Siller, M. Hold-
mann...) and the other was sending from
Berlin (F. Leinardt...).
Everyone could participate, you just
had to write a postcard with ten of
your favourite songs.
Almost every style of music was con-
tained: Pop, Trash, Rock, Wave, Metal,
Acid, Funk, Punk.... accept Classix!
The most successful bands were 'The
Beatles', 'Depeche Mode' (especially in
the east of Germany) and the 'Rolling
Stones'.
I listened nearly 16 hours a day and it
became really a drug for me. I listened
all the day, while I was reading, while
I was eating or watching TV. I even
listened to Top 2000D while I was sit-
ting in the bathtub!
It all started on 17th August at 1 a.m.
and endet on the 25th August, after the
local TV-station of Stuttgart (S3) had
transmitted the final 14 hours live
from the radio-station and the Vasen,
where the four moderators presented the
songs on a video-screen. The other team
in Leipzig a party, too and both were
connected via satellite.
...and this were the top hundred:
